About me

Just a girl living in the Austin area with a passion for life, running, cooking, live music, and overall well being.

My name is Melissa.  I graduated in 2004 from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi with a degree in Environmental Science and Geology.   In September of 2004 I moved to Austin and been in the area ever since.   Work brought me to Austin, but there is so much more that keeps me here!

In 2007, I was working on my health.  I joined Weight Watchers in January 2007, made goal in June 2007, and Lifetime in July 2007 (over 35 lb loss).  I’ve been below goal ever since.

WW Before~Christmas 2006

WW After~Christmas 2007 (we all started WW in Jan 2007 at some point)

As of late, I’ve had to reduce the running due to adrenal and hormonal issues.  I’m trying really hard to get myself 100% again.

I’m still doing what I love and loving doing it 🙂

    Hi Lisa!

I’m new to Austin, but a huge healthy living blog fan! I Would love to ask you some specific questions about Austins fitness/food scene and perhaps see how to get better connected! Would you mind emailing me so I could do such a thing?! You’re such a positive inspiration!

Thanks and have a fabulous day!

  3. Hi Melissa,

I’d like to invite you to participate in my research: “What Do Bloggers Want to Preserve? Defining the ‘Essence’ of User-Generated Content for Preservation.” This study will gain an understanding of how bloggers value their blogs and what elements bloggers think are important for preservation.

You are being asked to participate because your blog posts are tagged as being related to the theme of travel in one of the blog-hosting services and because your blog is not hosted by any commercial agency. Your participation is completely voluntary.

The survey is NOW OPEN and will remain open until midnight (EDT) 20 April 2011. If you are interested and would like to part in take the survey, please visit this URL: http://bloggersurvey.web.unc.edu/

Thank you in advance for considering participation in my study, and please
feel free to pass along this survey to others who might be interested!
