Product review and giveaway: Tropical Traditions coconut oil

I recently received a sample of Tropical Traditions Gold Label Standard Virgin Coconut oil to try out.  I immediately got to work on putting it to good use 😉

I love making bowls and stir fries.  I decided this was the perfect use for my coconut oil goodness.  I stir fried multicolored peppers, spinach, kabocha squash, Italian seasoning, quinoa, and tuna with 1 tablespoon of coconut oil.  I topped my masterpiece with feta.  Viola!  Italian bowl.

This stuff was awesome.  I tasted it straight too.  Very different from the kind i’d been purchasing at the local store.  I guess the only way I could explain the taste was more pure than what I was used to.  I will be getting more of this, tasting was believing!

Tropical Traditions also carries other varieties of affordable high quality coconut oil. Visit their website to check on current sales, to learn about the many uses of coconut oil, and to read about all the advantages of buying coconut oil online. Since the FDA does not want us to discuss the health benefits of coconut oil on a page where it is being sold or given away, here is the best website to read about the health benefits of coconut oil.

How to Use Coconut oil: There are hundreds of uses for coconut oil!

Some things I use it for:  homemade body scrub, body moisturizer, and hand/foot treatment .  My favorite use is cooking!  Stir fries, baking, roasting veggies, adding moisture to dishes, adding to coffee, adding to oatmeal, adding to smoothies, lubricating crockpot or pans,  etc.  If you are a PB2 fan, it’s great mixed with coconut oil for healthier peanut butter.  It’s my go-to healthy fat.

  1. I am definitely saving your recipe for Italian bowl! How clever and quick.

I’d like to try coconut oil as a base for coconut chocolate fudge recipe I saw on Pinterest. It has only a few ingredients– the oil, cocoa powder, vanilla, sea salt, coconut flakes and coconut essence. Have you had popcorn made with coconut oil and Sriracha? I hear it’s the bomb.

LOVE coconut, especially when traveling/working in Hawaii. My fav is coconut syrup, only available by shipping from Hawaii. I have never tried coconut oil, but would like to see if it actually makes a difference in recipes. I would become a loyal fan! A friend recently had a 50th and everything in her birthday gift contained coconut! Guess you could call us a couple of ‘coco-nuts’!

I’d love this coconut oil because I’ve started eating Paleo and have heard SO much about TT that I’d love a chance to try out their product! I love using coconut oil in my cooking.

  4. Raquel says:

I would like to try this brand because it appears to be of a MUCH higher quality than anything that I have found in my local stores.

  5. Ellen says:

I’m a believer in all the fabulous benefits of coconut oil and would love to see how the Gold compares to other brands.

I love coconut oil, I have seen it cure overnight my friends babies diaper rash that was so severe (after many trips to the dr buying $100 compounded prescriptions) he was bleeding and cried miserably!! I begged her to try coconut oil and she said by morning it had reduced in redness by 75% and the bleeding stopped and the healing was well on its way!! Poor kid even had scarring for a while, but she kept using the CO and those faded nicely also :)!!!
