3 legged pig

Meet my newest office mate…

In the small village of Pomaire, Chile, it is believed that Chanchitos, little pigs, bring good luck. Three legged Chanchitos are especially fortunate and are traditionally given to friends as a token of goodwill and love.

I originally found out about these through Dan’s co-worker’s wife, who saw it last year in Texas Monthly.  BFF #2, Alison, collects pigs.  So I ran to South Congress and bought her one last summer.  Not sure why I didn’t buy more.

Bought 3 this past weekend.  Notice I chose the one with the biggest mouth?  I also bought a co-worker and Dan one.

Not only is he cute, but I think everyone could use a little Good Luck in their lives, don’t you?

I have one that Sara Bagley gave me many years ago. I collected pigs for a long time too, I have tons of them packed away in a box waiting for the day I have a permanent place to display them. But this one has it’s place on our entertainment center for the time being! 🙂
