Things I like Thursday: making muscle

With a bunch of figure and bodybuilding contests going on soon, apparently the BodPod is in high demand. I took the only appointment I could get, Monday morning, 6 am.

I wasn’t sure what to expect. The test I had done in January had shown that I lost 3 pounds of muscle and gained that 3 back in fat during marathon training. I was told that I did better than most people do during marathon training, but it was still a tough pill to swallow.

Had the test done Monday, got my results. Didn’t look at the last results before I went in, so I wasn’t sure where I stood. Looked about the same to me, or so I thought.

Got back to the office, busted out my notebook and reviewed this test against the last. Lost 1.2% bodyfat and gained 5.5 pounds of muscle. YES! I gained back what I lost in marathon training and then some. Success.

Sweet reward after having many rough mornings of no energy in the weight room. Still not sure why cardio tends to make me feel good and I can muster energy, but the strength training energy is very unpredictable.

Full steam ahead. Hopefully I’ve found my happy place with miles and muscle!
